POSTAGE POLICY

UK Delivery:

Because we ship from so many fulfilment centres and because of the differing values of the products we ship we now only offer one UK delivery service. We will always choose the most efficient way of delivering your order.

UK Delivery charges: £4.00 standard charge per order plus 6% of the order value per item, with an upper limit of £20.00 per order.

International Delivery:

Responsibility for Local Taxes and Customs Charges

If you are ordering goods for delivery outside of the UK, please note that your consignment may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the goods reach the country of destination. Any such charges levied in relation to customs clearance must be borne by you. It is accepted by you that JS Group has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. JS Group recommends that you check with your local customs officials or post office for more information regarding importation taxes/duties that may be applicable to your online order.

International Delivery Charges:

We offer two services for each Postal Zone (Europe, Rest of the World or USA & Canada) - these are Tracked and Untracked Royal Mail postage - or courier for heavier parcels. Please choose your selected service at Checkout. Postage times depend very much on the prevailing conditions at the time of delivery into the destination country but vary from 5-7 business days in Western Europe to 7-10 business days in the Rest of the World but can be vastly more than that if delayed by customs or the local postal service.

NB: These prices include the cost of shipping each item in an order separately, for example, if one book is available and another is out of stock or on order. The price will also include signed delivery and insurance for higher value items sent by courier.

Information: Please note that Electrical items will mostly have a UK plug attached and will require an adaptor to be used with overseas electrical systems.

CIM Bookshop only: All books are subject to Free UK Postage. We offer CIM students and members an International delivery service - and prices for this will be shown at the point of purchase. A choice of Tracked or Untracked will be available.

Delivery Methods

The delivery details below are from the time of dispatch NOT the time of ordering.

Not all products are in stock and some have to be special ordered once you place your order. For these products, it can take up to 10 working days or longer (dependant on stock availability) to arrive before they can be shipped out to you.

Once dispatched, product codes starting with the below text will normally be shipped via courier/next working day, tracked method

Apple products with codes starting COMPU and ACAD
Electronic products with codes starting KEY, PEAK, EXER, GTECH
Art & Stationery products with codes starting JACKSON, ODEP or COMM
Sports and Fitness products with codes starting REY, RAL & QUELLA
Home & Personal products with codes starting NIS, BAN & GEAR
Mixed digital / home products types with codes starting KOND & AVP

Any other codes may be sent either courier/tracked or by standard post dependent on value and size, please feel free to contact us to confirm which shipping method they will be sent by. Books are normally sent via standard post.

PLEASE NOTE:
Most items sent by Courier delivery require a signature and you will need to ensure someone is at home to sign for the items. With courier deliveries you will normally be informed when an item is despatched so that you can expect next day delivery - this notification can either come from us or the courier.

To be helpful some couriers will attempt to deliver to a neighbour or leave the parcel in a safe place if you are out when delivery is attempted. This is to speed up delivery and prevent the need for multiple delivery attempts or items returned as 'Undelivered'. If this is done they should leave a card to tell you where they have left the parcel or to provide details of how to contact them to rearrange the delivery. This practice is standard amongst the parcel delivery industry.

Delivery Times

The delivery times below are from the time of dispatch NOT the time of ordering

United Kingdom

Courier/Tracked & 1st Class can take 1-3 working days for delivery
Standard (2nd Class) can take 3-5 working days for delivery

These are only guidelines and although goods are despatched in good faith once they leave our premises we have to rely on delivery services to get the item to you.

If your item was sent using standard delivery (Royal Mail untracked): Please allow 7 days for your item to arrive from the day we sent you a despatch email. At peak times like Christmas & Black Friday, due to the high volume of parcels at these times of the year, deliveries may take longer than the usual to arrive - at these times allow 14 days for untracked Royal Mail deliveries.

Please note we need to be notified in writing within 30 days of despatch when shipped via Royal mail, if your item has not arrived with you.

If your item was sent using a courier service (tracked and signed): Please notify us of non-delivery within 72 hours from the date of despatch. This is the time-frame we are given by our couriers to raise an investigation.

International

Untracked: can take 7-10 working days * depending on destination city and country.

Tracked can also take 7-10 working days * depending on destination city and country. Tracking will be available for most countries all through to delivery of the parcel (there may be exceptions depending on destination).

If the parcel has not arrived within the above guidelines please contact our Customer Services using the "Contact us" form. PLEASE bear with us during the restrictions placed on businesses due to the COVID-19 outbreak, which will cause delays to deliveries throughout the UK and especially Internationally.

We can only assume a parcel as lost if not delivered within 30 calendar days from despatch as courier services may still deliver within those timelines.

SHORTAGES:
You MUST inform us in writing of any missing items or empty parcels, with your order reference number and pictures of the parcel & shipping label, within 72 hours of delivery.

DAMAGED DELIVERIES:
You MUST inform us, in writing and with pictures, within 72 hours of delivery as per the requirements in the Returns Policy here

Outside these time periods there may be little we can do.

Delivery Addresses

When ordering please ensure that you enter your Billing Address (NB: where your credit card is registered) and Delivery Address (where you want your item delivered to) correctly.

All orders are sent to the address the customer enters on the site when placing the order. Therefore, JS Group accept no liability for any parcel lost, delayed or rejected because of:

  • Incorrect or incomplete addresses being entered, including, but is not restricted to spelling errors, missing house/flat numbers, incorrect or incomplete postcodes & students living in halls who have not included their flat and room details.
  • Unauthorised address use, including university campus' as the mail room/sorting office will reject parcels that do not belong to registered residents or staff.

FAILED DELIVERIES

Please note that any orders sent out that are returned to us as undelivered for whatever reason (e.g. requiring a signature, recipient not at home or address incorrect) will be returned to stock and refunded. The original postage cost will not be refunded in these cases.

Bank Holidays: Please note that there will be some disruption to our usual service over Christmas and Easter Holidays. Many publishers and most suppliers and couriers are closed and staff take their annual holidays. Please be patient with us at this time. Orders placed will be processed as normal during this time.

If you have an order query during Christmas or Easter please contact us via our Enquiry Form - and we will reply to your message as soon as possible after the holidays.
